What Gedara is — and what it is not.

Draft

Draft for legal review — not final legal advice.

This is the most important page on this site. Please read it before deciding whether Gedara is right for your family.

Gedara is a companionship service

Gedara is a companionship and everyday-support service. It is not a medical, nursing or emergency-response service. Where professional healthcare is required, Gedara can help coordinate with qualified providers.

Emergencies

Gedara does not replace emergency services. In an immediate emergency, appropriate local emergency assistance should be contacted without avoidable delay.

Every family also agrees an escalation plan during onboarding, so everyone knows who is contacted and in what order once emergency assistance is on its way.

Companions are not clinically trained

Companions are not doctors, nurses, carers or clinicians. They do not provide medical advice, monitoring, diagnosis or treatment of any kind, and they do not perform clinical procedures or personal nursing care.

They do not make decisions about medication. Gedara can help coordinate refills, pharmacy collections and reminders; medication decisions and clinical advice remain with the family and qualified healthcare professionals.

What companions do instead

They spend real time with Mum and Dad, help with practical everyday things, and notice what a phone call misses. If something seems off, the family hears about it — described plainly, as an observation, never as a clinical opinion.

When Gedara isn't the right fit

If your parents need nursing care, dementia care, supervised medical support or round-the-clock assistance, Gedara is not a substitute for that, and we'll say so honestly rather than take you on. We can often sit alongside professional care — but not in place of it.
